The Organization Value Added (OVA) Diagnostic provides an objective way to evaluate the complexity of work of a position and how it is designed.

The information gathered through this diagnostic is not about you, the individual.   It is being gathered to determine how a position can be improved.  The information will be used to identify where a position may be designed sub-optimally and should be changed to better meet the needs of the organization and its profitable growth.

The OVA also provides an objective comparison between positions based on new measures of role complexity for a knowledge based economy, and not on old factors like the number of people reporting or size of the budget.

This organization diagnostic may identify where there may be too much duplication between a position and its manager ( a jam-up) , or where there may be too big a difference in contribution ( a gap ).   It may also identify where there is duplication in roles between peers, including where decision authorities may be unclear.

The information gathered can be used in organization and job re-design that creates enhanced organizational alignment between positions.  The alignment would be based on the scope and level of complexity of the job to ensure effective perfromance and career development.
